Based on a prompt in the SteveTony discord server: Steve had thought of Tony as a friend. Actually, one of the best friends he's made in the future. Then he hears Tony telling someone that "it's okay, he's over Steve, that's ancient history now" and suddenly his worldview is flipped. Tony had been into him, maybe in love with him, and he hadn't noticed? But everything's okay, because they can still keep being friends as they had been.
Somehow, this doesn't make him feel better.

Clint jerks his head at the boy behind him. “SHIELD mission. Extracting a hostage.”
Tony glances back at the teenager, whose face has now morphed into something entirely impassive. “He seems thrilled about his rescue.”

Peter landed on the man’s shoulders to make the man fall onto the roof next to his poor, soaked pizza slice. Peter webbed him up more just in case.
“I would be sorry, if it hadn’t been for the loss of my poor pizza.” Peter sniffed. “A moment of silence for our fallen hero.” He said as he stood on top of Iron Man’s back, a fist to his chest in respect. “Gone but never forgotten. Always in our hearts. May you rest in peace, sweet, sweet pizza slice.”

But that fear came nowhere close to the pure terror he felt at the prospect of having a meet and greet session with actual-freaking-Captain-America.
(Set post-Spider-man Homecoming, but pre-Infinity War because who needs to worry about that stuff, lmao. It’s in a perfect world where the Accords were eventually agreed upon, and the Avengers are back together. Because yay, happy endings!)
