Summary
“Have you got anywhere to stay?” Jon asks him, briskly. “Friends, acquaintances, maybe, who you could stay with…?”
Martin flushes, deeply. “I, I mean— n-no, not really,” he stammers, and then goes even redder. “Or, just, y’know not that I’d want to, to. Put in the middle of this. Put in danger of, of worms.”
“Ah,” Jon says, “No, of course, that makes sense.” Why drag anyone else into this mess? Seven people died during Prentiss’s initial hospitalization; the collateral damage of roping someone from outside the Institute into her orbit doesn’t bare thinking about. “In that case…” Jon feels like there’s some alternative solution, one he’s just not thinking of at the moment, but it evades him, and Martin needs somewhere safe to stay. “My couch is quite comfortable. You’re welcome to come and stay with me until you figure something else out.”
Martin is held hostage by Jane Prentiss for two weeks, and can't go back to his flat. Jon offers him a place to stay until Prentiss and her worms can be dealt with, and they can be sure he's safe.

Got thinking about this fic again because I think it's my favourite take on the "only one bed" trope that I've seen. Just a great fic all around.

When they heard the fateful words "Recognized: Robin - B01," nothing could have prepared them for the web of secrets which would unravel as Daniel Fenton and Richard Grayson search for answers.
Rated K-plus for action, themes, and occasional language. Definitely not your typical DP/YJ crossover.

Bookmarker's Notes
The best way I can describe this fic is as a perfect arc: It takes off, it reaches an incredible peak, and it lands like an olympic gymnast going for the gold medal.
Trying to explain some of my favourite things, without spoiling anything....I mean the idea of an arc almost literally; this story starts off on a lighter note, on the action and humor side of things. It builds up to a more intense and darker middle, and then it eventually slides back into action and humor. I loved how well that was done- the timing of the tone shifts was great, lining up just right with the initial build of mystery, and then with the answers as everything came to light. It felt like the writer knew how I was going to feel as I read this, almost.
As for how I felt?? Woah. Wow. Okay so as things got more intense, and the plot thickened, I became super invested, to the point I had to keep putting the story down to process so I could focus enough to continue. Even when my greatest fictional enemy showed up- miscommunication, with high risk of everything going extremely badly- and I almost didn't want to look, I simultaneously couldn't stop. The mystery elements were so well written that I felt like I was racing to try and keep up and piece together the puzzle myself. Every time I thought I had things straight, something else popped up and made me have to find the new right perspective to look at things from. Like those art installations that look like different things from different angles, but new pieces kept being added that changed the angle I needed to find. I don't know. But I took every single scrap of a clue the story gave me, and once more and more details got revealed? Then instead of a thrilling, intense race, I started pieces just enough things together to feel smart, all while the story was still finding ways to suprise me. There's a lot to be said for the quality of writing that makes up a story where a reader leaves all-caps messages about having nearly worked something out, seriously.
(My friend got a lot of messages while I was reading this)
But for real? The writing here is amazing. The use of foreshadowing, hints that make sense in hindsight, misdirection, attention to detail, and narrative/thematic repetition is just brilliant, so amazingly brilliant. Add in the plot (which was incredibly deep and delivered with a level of confidence that a lot of fanfic lacks) with some self-reference? This is a story that knows itself well. And the author has a brilliant way of bringing everything full circle, so to speak, which kept the story cohesive and leads to many moments that are downright poetic.
It does get a bit confusing at times, sometimes intentionally, but my advice is to just read carefully, have some fun trying to work everything out, and trust that everything will make sense eventually.

I don't even read canon DC stuff (I might, after this. F*ck.) I found this on a DC crossover hit and took a detour because it seemed interesting.
This series has held me hostage for 2 days.
I have cried a lot- that's not necessarily a huge deal because I cry easily, but still.
This series as a whole is a really wonderful journey through challenges of found family, healing, self-care, healthy relationships, grief, prejudice, and growth. The author examines different iterations of the characters across versions, addresses trends in behaviour across universes, and protrays each character with depth and dimension. The management of the characters is amazing considering the size of the cast. There are points of tragedy, and some things that go wrong and hit hard in ways that can't be undone. But although there is no universal happy ending, and not every journey is finished or even addressed fully by the end of the story, the most important ones are. As dark as this story gets at times- and it gets incredibly dark- this series carries with it an important feeling; it can get better. It does get better.
The ending isn't a perfect world or happily ever after- but it's full of hope, and it's exactly what it needs to be.

Summary
Staring at a trembling boy before him, All Might knows what he would've wanted someone to tell him if he'd asked the Number One Hero if he could've been a Quirkless hero. And if that notebook he signed was anything to go by, a little help from Nedzu and the boy might even surpass him.
When Midoriya Izuku asks All Might if he can be a hero without a Quirk, the Symbol of Peace says 'Yes.'

A really impressive story, and I'm glad I finally got around to reading it. The author's sense of humor is amazing, and had me laughing inbetween moments of being on the edge of my seat.

Summary
"I’m only two minutes late!” Izuku protested. Had he missed the start of an important test? None of the national, standardized tests were supposed to happen this month and even being two minutes late to one of those wouldn’t elicit this sort of reaction. They were discussing their career interest forms today, but that was it. Nothing time-critical was supposed to be happening.
“Midoriya, you were reported missing a week ago. No one has seen you for eight days. The police have been combing the city for you.”
"I’m sorry. What?”
Midoriya Izuku went missing for a week and turned up in a back alleyway with skills he's never even heard of and no memory of how he came by them. He resigns himself to never learning the truth of what happened to him, but he shouldn't waste this chance should he? He could become a hero with reflexes like these.

An amazing story that starts off as an interesting fanfic and grows into a complex, self-contained ecosystem, with wonderful world-building, characters, and a narrative that is both thrilling and gut-wrenching. It's a long story, and it can be truly dark at some points, but I highly recommend it to anyone looking for something to really dig into, especially if you enjoy mysteries and deep inter-personal drama.

Summary
Izuku’s never run into this problem before with anyone else, but it’s still not much of a problem. “Oh, that’s alright,” he says. “I don’t have a Quirk.”
Tsukauchi stares incredulously at him, and then looks at the iron bar that Izuku is currently straightening with his hands.
Midoriya Izuku does not let his lack of a Quirk prevent him from being strong.
Also known as that one AU where Izuku follows the ridiculous training regimen of Saitama from One Punch Man and becomes stronger than anyone ever imagined he could be.

Bookmarker's Notes
One of the most emotionally complex and deep works I've read, ever. While the premise seems simple and lighthearted enough, it simply doesn't prepare you for the experience of this story.
This is beautiful and heavy and I love it.
All original characters slide seamlessly into the construct of this story, and feel just as complicated and three-dimensional as the canon characters. The relationships between the characters are deconstructed in a realistic way and the consequences of different scenarios are rarely ignored. In the end, super strong people are still people with lives and struggles and problems and this was so worth every moment I spent getting lost in the narrative and feeling the weight of the things Izuku deals with.
