When you add in a controlling, manipulative government agency that thinks Steve should only get bits and pieces of the truth is more than he can handle. So he leaves. They are all under the impression that he's some arrogant Alpha pighead and he doesn't have the energy to convince the whole nation that they're wrong. Well, the whole nation minus one historian by the name of James Buchanan Barnes. The only person who seemed to have been able to see Steve for who he was.

Summary
The BAU are called in on a case in Spencer's home town of Las Vegas, Nevada. Men in their mid to late 30s are being abducted in pairs, then raped and tortured, killed, and finally displayed naked in the park in half-dug graves.
The LVPD and BAU are stumped as to what the connections are between the Victims, and why the UnSub is targeting these specific men. Something is off with Spencer, and one by one his team are picking up on it.
But before they can crack the case, Spencer is drugged and thrown in a van. When he wakes up he realizes he's in the UnSub's bunker, and he's not alone. It turns out that all of the Victims (incl. Spencer) and the UnSub, are far more familiar with each other than the BAU and LVPD realize.
Will Spencer make it out alive with his sanity intact?

I know Tony’s relieved and proud of me that I’m not throwing up anymore, and May’s at least relieved, but I still don’t feel like I’m getting any better. When I would throw up, I felt good about it because I knew I was getting something done. I was working towards improving myself by getting all of the bad stuff out. But now, I don’t make myself sick anymore, and it’s not because I know it’s unhealthy, it’s because I’ve given up on getting better. I’ve given up on myself.

Peter wouldn’t be going to see an Avengers-level Geneticist. He definitely wouldn’t be going to see a baby or animal doctor, so that left the Pediatric Oncologist.
The cancer doctor.
Or, Somehow, while trying to keep both his internship and Spider-Man a secret, Peter has managed to convince his whole school that he is dying of cancer.
Or, Peter Parker is weird, and the other students think they’ve figured out why.
They haven’t.
