“...Sure,” Martin replied glumly. He wondered if this is how all those french people felt, back in the days of guillotines. “Huh— How do you think I should introduce myself to this Archivist, anyway? They are going to be my boss, technically speaking, so I suppose I can at least try to make a good first impression…?”
The look Tim and Sasha shared was… Certainly something.
“I don’t think introductions will really be required,” she said, delicately.
“Right. Ok. Sure. Do you know what their name is? I ought to at least know that, right?” Martin pressed on, voice tinted by desperation. “Mr. Bouchard wouldn’t say—”
Again with the look. Martin was going to scream.
“Don’t you worry about that, bud,” Tim said with a very forced, nervous little grin. “The Archivist is just The Archivist. Just get in there and… Godspeed?”

Moved by desperation, Martin accepts a job he's perfectly aware is bad news, but maybe... It won't be as such for long.

The strings wrapped him in their web, starting from his chest and twisting and fluttering around him.
There were friends at the ends of these strings, Mr. Spider had told him as a child. He just had to follow the strings where they lead.
There were victims at the ends of these strings, The Mother had told him. They would be delicious.With curiosity, Jon reached out and let the bright red string curl around his finger freely. The most beautiful, he thought. It tightened around him. In response, Jon gave it a gentle tug.
Instantly, his vision was overtaken.
Tea, made perfectly with milk and a dash of sugar and a lot of love. A deep, deep loneliness. A lie on a resume. White fog, dusty shelves full of documents, a sound like wet pasta. Fear, fear, fear. Jon’s face, all eight of his eyes open, gazing sharply at something behind him.
Love, love, love. So much love.
A gunshot.
“Martin!” Jon gasped, coming to. “Who the hell is Martin?”
Or:
Jon doesn't escape Mr. Spider, and becomes a child avatar of the Web. This changes some things, but not others.

“So, since my dear Martin has been suffering ever so much on that cot in Document Storage,” Tim begins, sending exaggerated puppy dog eyes back at Martin, “I've decided we're going out!”
“But– the worms,” Martin protests, at the same time Jon sighs: “Need I remind you, Tim, that Jane Prentiss is still a very real threat?”
He scoffs, waving off the criticism with a flip of his hand. “Well of course I know that. Which is why I have a plan.”
Jon raises a single eyebrow, the picture of disdain, whatever he wanted to talk about with Martin apparently forgotten.
“We'll be going somewhere…” –and here Tim pauses for dramatic effect– “...with a lot of people!”
“Oh, goody,” Jon says in the dryest monotone Martin has ever heard in his life.

Seeing Mr. Darling on T.V. you thought he was sugar, spice, and everything nice tied up in a bow.
Then you met him and thought he was the devil in a Puppet body.
You thought it was an open and shut case, but as Wally Darling's official chauffeur, you realized he was actually a man of polar opposites.
Not just on and off the stage. He was a tight coil of tension in a crowd, but lax when under the camera. Seething when surrounded by what he perceives as incompetence, but fidgety when he thinks no one's watching.
The gossip and sheer beauty of the vehicle you had the privilege of driving was worth the toxic work environment, in your opinion.

Summary
Being a witch in Ninjago is wild. When I live alone in the woods I'm "creepy" but when 4 ninjas do it, it's "mysterious" when I meddle with supernatural powers it "going to kill us all" but when they do its "Spinjitzu" honestly if it weren't for that Lloyd kid, I'd never have even cared about 4 random boys who enjoy one specific color scheme, and spinning very fast. Of course though, I had to get emotionally attached to this kid, and of course he had to get himself knee-deep in Serpentine drama, and of course he always needs me to get him out of it.
I don't get paid enough for this.
