"Immediate power," Lucifer said simply. "The moment you cross over, you'd have abilities that take others centuries to develop. Influence. Status. A head start, so to speak, with my personal endorsement. Where others crawl and claw for decades, you’ll rise the moment you fall. A crown the second you step through the gate."
Alastor's eyes narrowed slightly, though his smile remained fixed. "That sounds remarkably generous. What would you want in return?"
Lucifer's own smile widened. "A favor."
"Nothing immediate," Lucifer assured him. "Consider it a... future arrangement. I find myself in need of someone with your particular qualities. Someone who could potentially stand beside me in a formal capacity, helping to maintain order over my subjects. I reserve the right to call upon you when I have a need. One favor, when the time is right."
"Well, it's not every day that a demon from hell extends a job offer."
"So, do we have a deal? Immediate power and position when you arrive in Hell, in exchange for a favor to be specified later?"

Summary
Alastor has a pretty good thing going with Lucifer, and though he has questions as to just how much Lucifer truly cares about this little arrangement they have, he feels as though he has a firm place at the king's side. It isn't until Lilith returns to the hotel that he fears he may have just been cast aside. Worse, he's starting to have bouts of nausea.
