Summary
Ranboo’s mechanical spider lacked two, technically three things. Two legs and webbing fluid. Ranboo couldn’t find said web fluid, the prototype being some metal scrap they’d gotten from Phil, and it wasn’t enough.
Technoblade proceeded to discover this fact and disappear for a few days, returning with the copper and some wisdom for Ranboo’s hidden insecurities.

Summary
If there was one thing Phil didn’t want to be doing today, it was watching a fight.
And yet, here he was, a mask on his face- similar to one he’d be wearing if this was a masquerade ball- and wings folded tightly under a cloak. His hands were nervously fidgeting with the strings of his cloak as he followed closely behind Techno, trying to avoid any sort of attention.
When you’re a hybrid undercover at a literal hybrid fighting arena, what else are you supposed to do?

Summary
Technoblade and Philza had thick cloaks that kept them warm, a helpful remnant of their days ruling the Arctic Empire together before coming to this server to participate in these Games.
Ranboo, on the other hand, wore only a black suit. It was professional and handsome, but not exactly the most practical given the environment.

"Ranboo turns away from the window and sighs. It’s as good a plan as any to just pretend the snow isn’t there. Well, really it’s his only plan, but it’s a good plan nonetheless. If he tries hard enough, he can almost forget the chilling cold seeping through him and the slight burning sensation he can feel from leftover snow. You know, maybe they cancel out, and he’s just complaining for nothing. He closes his eyes and clutches his book tighter. He just needs to make it through tonight, and then it will probably stop snowing, and then he can build some actual walls and a roof for this place.
“What’cha doin’ there, mate?” Ranboo flinches at the interruption, quickly turning to see Phil standing outside his house."

They were pretty sure that the spirit of Tommy was speaking through them because normally they would never dare to say something so stupid to a member of the Syndicate. But those words were certainly out there, and there was no taking them back. So Ranboo just had to live with the fact that they’d actually said that.
“What,” Phobos said, which was a pretty good question. Ranboo didn’t really know what either if he was being honest.
Or: Ranboo is a hero who's gotten cornered by a villain. And he should probably be more worried about this whole thing, but the concussion is making that a little difficult.

It was winter, and Ranboo was shivering. Their body had forgotten how to hold its own warmth inside, and now it leaked out from between their poking ribs, streaming out into the world. They were co-existing with Techno on the couch, him reading, them pretending to, wrapped in the thickest blanket in the house. They didn’t have the heart to ask to switch places so they could be closer to the fire. They’d already told Phil that they unfortunately couldn’t eat the biscuits he’d been working on. Nut allergy, this time. Newly developed, strangely enough. Yeah, their throat would start itching and swelling. Not fun.
