“I’m dreaming, and dreaming about you, that’s all,” Cliopher informed me. “For one, I don’t believe in fate, or destiny. Second of all, you’re dressed like Fitzroy Angursell, and that’s clearly not right.” Oh, but this really was dangerous, for you and for me. “Third of all, if this is real I’m probably going to get executed tomorrow for the really very egregious etiquette violations I’ve already committed, and I would prefer not to be.”
“Nobody’s executing you,” you said sharply. You were not going to let anyone. Not Cliopher Mdang, your competent, intrepid, unpolished secretary. (Your soulmate.)
“You see?” Cliopher said. “Unrealistic. Definitely a dream.”

“Will you tell me what’s bothering you so, Kip?” his Radiancy murmured.
“It’s nothing,” Cliopher said, and then to the unwavering, unimpressed look, amended it to, “It’s foolish.”
His Radiancy countered that with a singular raised eyebrow.
“You won’t like it,” Cliopher confessed, and closed his eyes.

In the aftermath of a long and weird week, Cliopher has an unusual favor to ask of his Radiancy.

Jullanar didn’t realize anything was wrong until the newspaper boy yelped in panic, until she was turning back to see the paper Fitzroy was holding on fire, a conflagration held in one hand, his eyes liquid gold with magic and his voice perfectly empty when he said, “No. That can’t be right. There’s been a mistake.”

At least there wasn’t an audience for the look Ludvic turned on Kip and the too neutral way he said, “Tor?”
Kip could feel himself flushing - in Astandalas this was the kind of thing that had lost him jobs before - but he had the excuse of, first of all, amnesia, and second of all, “He didn’t give me any other name!” Kip hissed. “He deflected me off the topic twice!”

Summary
Truthfully I was at least as preoccupied with looking for a post office as I was with looking for the continuation of our adventure. Kip’s favorite cousin, alive! I needed to send a letter at the earliest available opportunity. A pity we were in Voonra; I had no idea what situation the post offices here were in, since even Kip’s domain over the post didn’t extend past the borders of Zunidh. Possibly teleportation through portals created by magical maybe-tigers was more effective than the actual postal system and I would have to wait a full fortnight until Sardeet could send my next letter, who knew.

It’s possible Cliopher was still a little drunk, either from the magic, the giddy relief of feeling finally at ease with his family, or the more mundane cause of the alcohol that he’d drunk that night. Regardless of the reason, when the idea came, it came at a delay, after the door was already swinging shut behind his Radiancy, and he didn’t hesitate the way he ordinarily might have, wondering if it was crossing a line; he just got up.

When the steward rises at Kip’s gesture and says, voice quavering, “Be welcome, your excellency; I will tell the Princess that you and your…” and cuts a glance to me in a questioning manner, I don’t hesitate to leap in.

Summary
Cliopher did not have to submit a report upon his return from his vacation, of course — technically he had the entire six months of travel and holiday in the Vangavaye-ve itself off — but it felt wrong to be entirely idle for such a length of time, and besides, it kept him busy through the long weeks on the sea train. And occasionally there was a little incident here or there which he would need to inform the Offices of State about regardless, and it was simpler to send reports back through the Lights in one batch.
-
In which his Radiancy carefully reviews all of Cliopher's reports, including the ones generated on his trips across Zunidh. This is entirely professionally motivated and has nothing to do with what Cliopher considers appropriate footnotes.

Summary
“It’s a letter to the Offices of State’s public communications box,” Rhodin said. “With an anecdote about the annual stipend.”
“Is it?” Cliopher said. They got plenty of those letters, of course; usually reading and responding to them was the first-year secretaries’ job. “And it made its way to you?”
“Well,” Rhodin said blithely, “it claims to be from Fitzroy Angursell, you see.”
-
In which Cliopher misses his Radiancy, distracts himself by starting a pseudonymous correspondence with Fitzroy Angursell, and develops an entirely academic and rational interest in determining which member of the Red Company is the friend that Fitzroy won’t stop talking about.

amazing story, wonderfully done, but mind the "not a fix it" tag, and mind your headspace with regards to "voluntarily disassembling one's sanity to survive long term torture and mind manipulation" stuff - Obi-Wan recovers afterwards, with a lot of help, but it may not be enough to be aftercare if that flavor of too-realistic horror messes with your mental health
still an amazing story though

Summary
Master Obi-Wan Kenobi is filled with regrets when the Padawan he chooses is assigned to Anakin. When he discovers that it was Yoda's meddling that had prevented him from being a Padawan in his own youth, the betrayal runs deep. Wondering what could have been, a trick of the Force throws him back in time, where he learns to put his trust in the Force, not the High Council.
Redemption of Qui-Gon Jinn had he not been forced to take a Padawan before he was ready, and where the Order learns to take another course that put quite a wrench in the Sith plans. Start of the Clone Wars to 44BBY AU of the Apprentice books. Cheeky Obi-Wan and Mandalorian shenanigans.

spectacular story, DEEPLY satisfying ending where the heavy weight of The Fate Of The Galaxy is finally no longer resting on Obi-Wan's shoulders, or any one person's, opening to a much brighter future. which usually just makes me want more story, lol, but this was super satisfying

Summary
One chance to fix everything. He could do this.
He can do this.
Obi-Wan had so many questions and very few answers. Just to get better, he’d have to deal with it cautiously - for now, no one could know what’d happened to him - and he had to pretend to be an unremarkable Initiate, while he decided which path he would guide the Order to save the galaxy.
No pressure. He’d been once a GAR High General and he was never behind his paperwork. He could do this.

I love this so much, Obi-Wan being sent back in time to fix shit and get a chance at happiness, and gets to be padawan to Mace Windu, Plo Koon, AND Dooku collectively, because the force knows damn well that the intensely traumatized Kenobi needs more help than one master could provide. Amazing story.
Heads up to self, there's a second fic in the series, but it's set in the decades between the Rise of the Empire and Obi-Wan being sent back after his time as a force ghost, and thus hella dark, so I haven't read it yet

Summary
“You are under arrest, My Lord.”
Palpatine was shaking. “Anakin, I told you it would come to this. I was right! The Jedi are taking over.”
Master Windu raised his weapon at the same time Anakin ignited his own lightsaber. In one swift movement he'd cut through the flesh of Windu’s arm as the man yelled in pain, his cries drowned out by the cackled laughter of the Sith Lord who’d suddenly regained all his strength.
Master Windu screamed in agonising pain as Anakin stumbled backwards, his lightsaber dropping from his hand as horror filled his bones.
The last thing he saw was Master Windu’s body being flung out the window with incredible force . . . and then everything went black.

Day 3
Anakin woke up back in bed with Padme. The chronometer by his side read that it was 06:00.
He was starting to believe that what he’d just seen had not been a dream.
Anakin finds himself stuck in a time-loop on the very day that changes his life forever.
