In the next moment, it’s over. The lights come back. The team gasps and cries out, marveling over the doors slamming open and shut.

It had taken less than twenty four hours from that moment for the both of them to end up back in that fucking basement in Baltimore, Maryland. Less than forty eight for his mother to be dead and Nathaniel to wish he were too.
Now, two months later, just after his seventeenth birthday, after many, many lies to the police and after his father had spent the appropriate amount of time playing the grieving widower, Nathaniel found himself standing outside of Palmetto High School in South Carolina.
