“Sadness doesn’t belong on you.” Alastor’s voice was merely a whisper, easily lost to the wind, had they not been so close together.
Lucifer’s eyelids fluttered shut and he slid his hands across Alastor’s shoulders until he was holding Alastor as close as he possibly could. The words that left his mouth next were rotten, the venom he harbored towards the situation dissolving them until it was nothing but acrid bitterness on his tongue. “Mother is giving me away.”
Alastor pulled back to stare at him in shock and Lucifer’s gaze dropped to his lap.
