From a planet orbiting the fading Eridani 40, a crew of twenty-three Eridians board a ship, and start the long journey towards the blazing star Tau Ceti, hoping to find the solution to their dying star, thereby saving their world from extinction. They are the best and brightest on their planet, and while they are nervous, hope and camaraderie are high.
And then, one by one, and then all at once, they begin to sicken.

Halfway through, he heard what he had dread the most, the footsteps entering the same hall he was in, allowing whoever this was a clear line of sight.
He should have just fled, gotten out of there right that moment, but he couldn't, he had to know, so against his better judgment, he turned around.
At the sight that met him, his stomach sunk, dropping into an ice cold ball of pure dread and terror.Before him stood an operative, dressed in full tactical gear, face obscured by a heavy protective helmet, back burdened by the weight of a large supply filled backpack, and most important of all, pointing the gun they held right at him.
