Kokichi finds himself staring for a long while, just watching Kaito’s bandaged chest rise and fall, the way his bangs flutter slightly with every exhalation. Kokichi’s never seen him properly asleep before—the naps he used to take back in history class don’t count—and even in the dark where Kokichi can’t make out his face very well… he really does just look exhausted.
So Kaito is Supernova. There was no doubting it before, but it’s as sure a fact as the sky being blue, now. Kokichi pouts for a moment, trying to convince himself that he could still walk away from this without caring, but… no, it’s thoroughly his problem now, he thinks.
Ugh, what a bore.

Kokichi knows that Kaito is running around the city fighting crimes as the new superhero "Supernova", that was never a question -- and never his problem, either. Summary
Shuichi wakes up as he often does gasping, tears burning in his eyes, his legs tangled up in his blankets and his pillow thrown to the floor. He clutches at the duvet, struggling to choke down deep breaths as his lungs spasm, and takes a moment to register his surroundings. The bed is cold and empty and the room is dark, the curtains pulled shut. Every piece of furniture looms, tall and unsteady, overhead. Shuichi grips both sides of his skull and digs his nails into his skin, using the pain to ground himself, reminding himself that it wouldn’t hurt if he wasn’t awake.
Slowly, the feeling returns to his extremities, and he allows the tension to leave his shoulders, his hands falling back down to his sides. He smoothes out the comforter as he lifts his gaze, looking around the room. Sunlight streams through the curtains and he can hear faint birdsong from outside. There is no coughing. His surroundings remain stationary and high resolution, every pattern and design exactly as Shuichi remembers it.
He can detect the smell of pancakes wafting in from the kitchen.

Mikan Tsumiki is a good nurse, and if she has anything to say about it, nobody's going to die from this strange disease.
It's too bad then, that she kind of doesn't.
