Summary
Octavia Vale had a problem. For her entire life, pokemon have reacted to her presence with unease at best, and outright hostility at worst. To them, she seemed to exist in the Uncanny Valley, something about her just subtly "off" in an unidentifiable way. She wanted nothing more than to have the opportunity to travel and befriend pokemon like anyone else, but it was never safe to do so. This was not a problem shared by Taylor, her identical twin. Octavia was sure that if she could just figure out what the difference between them was, then she could fix it and finally follow her dreams.
Unfortunately for both of them, she did. The difference was that Octavia wasn't human. She never had been.
Octavia Vale was an Imposter. A Ditto that had transformed into a perfect copy of Taylor as an infant and never changed back. A Ditto who could mimic the human form and had learned human speech to a degree almost unheard of for its species. A Ditto that no shortage of criminal enterprises would pay any price to capture and exploit.
Taylor Vale never wanted to be a trainer, but to protect her inhuman sister, she was willing to try anything. Even if it meant capturing and training Octavia herself.

Summary
In any other world, things would have proceeded normally. You've seen it before. The Roaring Knight creates a fountain within a fountain, the fountain births a Titan, and you guide Kris, Susie, and Ralsei in defeating it. But this is not any other world. This is a world of the written word, where stories bend to match the text, and Words speak louder than Actions.
And so when the Knight creates that new fountain, in a room filled with books, those stories come to life. You find yourself as the audience to this brand new tale, your ability to interact and affect outcomes reduced to almost nothing. But almost nothing isn't literally nothing, and you are nothing if not determined...
__
Susie falls into the world of a book she's never read, landing in the role (and body) of The Dragon, secondary antagonist and general nuisance to the Heroes. (Un)Fortunately for everyone involved, she already knows what role she's meant to play in the story, and she's not about to let something like "truth" or "planned story arcs" stand in the way of that. After all, she needs to find her friends, get home, and save the world. If she has to save this one in the process of getting there, then that's just what she'll do.

Summary
Two humans awaken to find themselves in the bodies of completely ordinary animals and set out to survive with nothing but each other and the uncanny ability to understand each other's attempts at communication. They soon discover, however, that their unfamiliar bodies are only the start of their troubles...
Transliterated is a xenofiction web novel about identity, novel forms of communication, the contrast between human and non-human perspectives, and finding mutual support in a strange, unfamiliar world.
