Her eyes are dark and wide, and her mouth is steady. When Kaz doesn't immediately join them at the table, she crosses her arms and raises an expectant eyebrow.
To his right, he hears Inej stifle a snicker into her hand as her eyes flicker between her mother and Kaz.
Amara Ghafa is not in the least bit intimidated by Kaz Brekker, or his reputation, or his fine dark suits.
She looks pointedly at the seat next to Inej. “Join us for dinner, Mr. Brekker.”---
