A-Ling looks happier than ever gnawing on his snack, his eyes swiveling back and forth between his guardians like watching tennis. He starts to giggle when Jiang Cheng shouts back at Jin Guangyao, “Screw you!”
Jin Guangyao gives into the urge to maim his co-guardian and sends a plush toy reeling at his stupidly broad shoulders. “Stop!”
“Swearing!” Another toy bounces off his stupidly sculpted chest.
“In front of our kid!” The last on hits the side of Jiang Cheng’s stupidly built jawline.
In other words: Jiang Cheng and Jin Guangyao are ridiculously emotionally repressed which is why it's completely and utterly baffling when they miraculously nail parenting when Jin Ling comes down with a cold during Christmas.

Which—on the one hand it’s to be expected, she’s a cat after all, but on the other hand it’s goddamn strange because she’s as huge as some dogs Nie Mingjue has seen and she really shouldn’t be this good at hiding.
And she doesn't show up at all for the whole afternoon.

And Wei Wuxian is incredibly good looking, and completely different to anyone he's ever known before. In fact Jiang Cheng can hardly believe Wei Wuxian is interested in him.

It wasn’t like the lake was small or anything but he just needed to be on land. It’d been so long since he’d been able to. His uncle was strict on making sure that he stayed close by. He wasn’t going far though from the water, just around the bank is all. Could anyone blame him? It was a good day for seeing the forest anyway.

Why, Jiang Cheng wanted to ask. Poor bunny.
