Touko looked so concerned. She was stuck at his bedside when she should be elsewhere, doing something more productive. Shame enfolded Natsume like a blanket. He wanted to crawl into the youkai infested forest, and fall asleep in a hollowed out tree, and maybe, if he was lucky, never wake up.
“You really are delirious.” Touko’s hand rested on his jaw. Natsume leant into it. “I wish there was more I could do.”
“Stay,” Natsume said into her fingertips.
