This is an alternative universe where Jane and Daria did not make up after ‘Dye! Dye! My Darling!’ and ‘Is it Fall Yet?’, set roughly six months later or so.
Daria hadn't spoken to Jane since the betrayal with Tom and it is taking its toll on her. And with Jane, the feeling is mutual.
