Summary
It's not a rare occurrence for a human from one world to be suddenly displaced into a fantasy world where they become an unlikely hero, but the choice is almost never fully theirs. This is not the case for one human, whose deteriorating mental health leads them to make a bargain with five eldritch entities in an attempt to shed their old life and embrace a new one. Unfortunately for said human, even if the horrors that facilitated their relocation to the Wings of Fire universe weren't still keeping an eye on them upon their emergence in Pyrrhia, their moral code is one that's... wobbly at best, and the moment control begins to slip away from them this will only worsen.
(You don't need to know anything about the Hatchetverse to be able to read this; I'll be covering all relevant information about it within the story.)

It was an ordinary day at Jade Mountain Academy, or so it seemed. Kinkajou was ecstatic at having new friends from different tribes, yet after weeks of short conversations and hesitance to open up, she had to do something!
After asking Turtle if his family had any magical artifacts that would help their clawmates ‘open up,’ he gifts her a bowl of strawberries and tells her that whoever eats one will be forced to tell the truth for an entire day. Naturally, Kinkajou takes it without hearing the full explanation.
Surely, nothing bad will come out of this.
