Agent Stone finds a mysterious unlabled chemical in the Doctor's lab. When he realizes it's an aphrodisiac, Stone can't resist his darkest urges, fully accepting the fact that he might get fired for it. But instead of punishing his agent normally, Robotnik goes for a different approach: An eye for an eye.

More and more intrigued by the second, Robotnik mirrors the creature, leaning in closer towards the window to be eye level with it. He is a little taller than it is, so he has to bend down a little to address it directly, “What are you?”
“What a strange question.” It tilts its head. Almost birdlike, if not for the way the angle is all wrong, flesh bending in places where there should have been hard bones. It almost distracts Robotnik from the answer: “I am me. Is that not enough?”
Pfff. Either it is dumber than expected, or it has gotten the hang of how to play games. “Hardly,” Robotnik informs it, quite magnanimously in fact. “You are obviously not human, though you’re appearance as one is, dare I say it, flawless so far.”
“Why, thank you.”In a bid to find something that manages to hold his interest for longer than a few minutes, Robotnik uncovers a secret project, hidden in the bowels of G.U.N.s oldest base. A thing which’s very existence breaks a human’s mind. Finally, something worthy of Robotnik’s attention!

Summary
Facing his most humiliating defeat yet, having godhood itself stripped of him, Robotnik is faced with human mortality, and he does not like what he sees. Attempting to defy the rules of nature itself, he attempts to undo the very thing that both defines and plagues humanity; death.
tldr : Robotnik survives the fall from the death egg, Stone doesn't. Robotnik does not cope well.
