At 12 years old, Billy Batson becomes the 'immortal' adult superhero, Captain Marvel.
At 14 years old, just a week after his birthday, Danny Fenton dies and becomes the 'ancient' ghost hero, Phantom.2 years later, after Billy became the Champion of Magic, a new hero has joined the league and Billy wants to meet him! Plus a ghost superhero at that? Billy thought that was awesome. But then he actually meets the dead teen, who looks scarily similar to his childhood friend but with different coloured features.

Summary
Marco had lived through five lives, each vastly different from each other, in experiences and people. But the only thing that remained out of those lives were him. They left and he stayed, only to be re-born again into a new life.
But when he got reincarnated into his sixth, the island he woke up to, the wanted posters and newspapers headlines, the pirates... they were all too familiar. Far too familiar that he cursed fate with more than just a string of colourful words. He stayed away from it all, piracy and sailing alike, but fate never did appreciate his cursing.

The crushing loneliness that once plagued him rears its ugly head, creating a hollow core in his chest. In that single instant, those few words had carved out his insides like a hot knife through butter, and Luffy first thought is that he has to stop it from consuming the other boy the way it once had him.
Not-quite-five year old Luffy overhears a wish at Dawn Island's Wish festival, leading to him befriending Ace and Sabo earlier than in canon. They have no idea how to deal with the ball of sunshine named Monkey D Luffy, but they're gonna try.

“I know how to read!” The brat interrupted indignantly. His face was beet-red—the orange wasn’t the first comparison the cooks made—and he snatched the fruit from Patty’s hands, storming off to prepare the dessert he needed it for.
With every letter and the following assurances of his literacy, which grew higher in pitch each time, Zeff couldn’t help but be certain that the boy was simply too proud to admit his lack of skill.
Or: There's a bit of a misunderstanding going on in the early days of Baratie. But then again, who could blame Zeff for assuming this random kid couldn't read?
