Summary
Months after fixing the Pillar, and having (mostly) convinced his friends that he’s fine now, really, all MK wants is for things to go back to the way they were BEFORE all the mess with Azure and the stones. He put in the work, shouldn’t he be allowed to have a normal life again? But saving the world and fixing it are two very different things, and as long-hidden secrets and old grudges return to haunt his mentor, MK will find that being the Monkey Kid comes at a steeper cost than he could have ever imagined. His friends are at odds, his own powers are betraying him, and an ancient power struggle threatens to put him in the middle of all out war between the realms.

The boy beams wide. His cheeks are ruddy with a youthful vigor that Vanitas lacks, and his green eyes sparkle like gems. There’s something bright, about his eyes, about his teeth. Like they’re backlit by the setting sun, just enough to make them gleam.
Blonde hair bounces as he sticks his hand out to shake. “I’m Ventus!”

Summary
Terra is not like Aqua and Ven.
They don't speak about it. They don't acknowledge it. Terra isn't sure if Ven even knows. But Terra has never forgotten there is something dark and terrible inside him. Still, with Master Eraqus's help, he has long since sealed that part of himself away. Now at eighteen, Terra is confident he has overcome his darkness.
But everything changes when a new threat appears: a masked stranger with the ability to consume light - one who is fixated on devouring the very hearts of Terra's friends. Each encounter makes the enemy stronger and his friends weaker. Each countermeasure makes the enemy smarter and crueler. As the castle descends into fear, Terra realizes he may be the only one who can save them.
But to do so, he needs to discard everything Master Eraqus taught him.
