What starts off as a concern over his not being on blood thinners after she mentions she is for the two screws in her own wrist turns into a day of multiple revelations, of varying degrees of horrific.
Tanika had never realised quite how messed up Buck’s life was, and she’s barely scratched the surface…
He has someone on his side now, and she‘s determined to use her own sick leave to think about all those weird things she's tucked away in her mental ‘Buck file' over the years…Series

"You, firefighter Buckley, are now Interim Captain for A-shift, station 118, effective immediately.” Buck pursed his lips, seeing the hard look in the man’s eyes telling him to keep his mouth shut. “When all of them, Captain Nash, Paramedics Wilson and Han, and Firefighter Diaz, the whole A-shift clique, are cleared medically, you will no longer be part of their team.”
“Are you temporarily promoting me and firing me at the same time?” Buck asked incredulously.
“No, I am not. You will no longer be part of their team, because you will report directly to me. You will become a floater at whatever station I tell you you are floating at for whatever duration I direct. You have the most qualifications and certifications of any firefighter in LA, only missing your paramedic certification. I was informed you would pass if you ever actually applied for and took the exam.”

“And I don’t get a say?”
“Not if you want to remain a member of the LAFD.” Chief Simmons said with finality. They stared at one another for a few more tense moments before the Chief straightened up and left Buck alone in the Captain’s office.

But called in to talk about something, having to do a DNA test, and then getting put in a conference room with a little girl that was obviously bored? He had no idea what was going on and just wished someone would tell him something.
Whatever.
