Perhaps it is because his memory is worse than Miles allows himself to admit. Perhaps it is because, in some unspoken, unacknowledged way, they had been.

Reigen didn’t know what happened after Mob entered Asagiri’s body to chase out the spirit from within, but he knew nothing good happened there. And he knew it was only a matter of time before Mob couldn't shoulder it on his own anymore.

Our hands pressed together felt strange and new but yet inevitable, as if they had always been that way, and my fingers ached to grab hold of his own, to press them to my chest and hold him there forever.

Zagreus shook again, with what Thanatos thought at first was another cough. Instead, he saw that Zagreus was grinning.
“Are you ... laughing?”
“Maybe,” Zagreus answered. “I was just thinking ... if I’d known the only way to get you to hold me was by dying for you ... perhaps I should’ve tried it sooner.”
Thanatos and Zagreus reunite after Zagreus’s first escape from the Underworld, and Thanatos is dealing with some complicated feelings—especially when Zagreus gets hurt trying to protect him.

Defeated, Zagreus leans his forehead against the wall. Or, rather, he slams his forehead into the wall. He’d been so close to escaping silently into his room after dying for the thirteenth time that week (had his father sent out another reward poster?), but then of course his father had to acknowledge his existence. He only seems to do it when Zagreus very much wishes he could disappear into the floor.
“Father.” Zagreus does his absolute best to not scowl. “How can I help you?”

Thanatos always remembers. How Zagreus’s touch is so warm against his skin, how just the brush of his fingertips over the flesh of his arm ignites his senses.
He knows himself to be the opposite: cold, in more ways than one. There’s no warmth in his own arms, his fingers more like the ice Zagreus is just barely now experiencing.
He’s cold, in the silence that he finds comfort in and how the way Zag so easily smiles isn’t something just as easy to him.
And that he’s selfish; Thanatos wants everything that Zagreus is, every piece of him.

Once again Phoenix attempted to turn the doorknob, and his fingers met with an icy cold that almost hurt considering his body temperature. However, the knob refused to budge. The door wasn’t locked, Phoenix checked, but no matter how much force he used… the knob wouldn’t budge.
He turned back to see a frown on Edgeworth’s face and moved out of the way so his friend could attempt to open the door where he had failed. However, turns out Phoenix wasn’t the only one who failed that day.“Yikes. I guess we’re… Stuck in here, then?”
