Steve raises his head to find Tony looking down at him, a soft half smile curling around his mouth. He looks good, Steve allows himself to think, in his soft khaki linen shirt, graying hair falling in soft curls over his forehead.
Without meaning to, Steve’s gaze zeroes in on the salt and pepper stubble on his jaw, then travels down to his unbuttoned collar, at the golden skin peeking out underneath, but—
He’s drunk. No one can judge a drunk man’s thoughts, can they?

“Oh Steve,” Tony says, mouth quirking like a secret. He lightly kicks Steve’s ankles apart where he is still leaning against the counter, and steps between them. “Still? Even after all this time?”
And god, Steve wants—he wants to play dumb, ask what the fuck Tony’s talking about. He wants to ask if Tony had known all this time, truly, and why he never said anything. He wants to push Tony away and flee from the kitchen, from New York, the goddamn fucking country if only that means he does not finally have to deal with this.
Such a simple thing, the way Tony finally puts it between them, and yet Steve feels as if he’s going to come apart.
After they defeat Thanos, after Tony survives, there is a visit. Things go from there.

Summary
Before Tony knows it, he's head over heels in love with Steve. Which isn't surprising, it's just a lot more complicated to want to be in a relationship with someone now. Even if he could tell Steve that he is Iron Man, there's still the stupid chestplate. Steve seems to be keeping him at arm's length anyway, and Tony can't figure out why.
Steve wakes up in the 21st century, and all he wants is to go home to his time. That's until he falls in love with Tony Stark. Unfortunately, he can't tell him how he feels. Tony deserves someone who can give him everything he wants. And that someone can't be Steve, considering he lost all erectile function as a side effect of the serum.
