“There’s a faultline...right there.” Fyodor’s hand reached up slowly, fingers barely skimming the glass barrier between them. “It’s what separates bureaucracy from what is just. Tell me, Ango...do you think I’m a criminal?”
Ango wasn’t sure what type of game this was. He wasn’t sure how Fyodor was manipulating his thoughts, burrowing so deep into his skull and clenching as if he owned every single one of them.
“You already know what I think.”
Fyodor’s mouth was slow to shift into a grin. The movement was languid, like an animal stretching on its hind legs. His canines flashed.
Ango was under no illusion.
Fyodor may have been the one behind bars, but ultimately -
He was the one who was trapped.
