“Hey wait a minute, has Nico ever been trick-or-treating?” Percy asked. Hazel frowned.
“I’m not sure,” she admitted. “He’s never talked about it.”
“Historically speaking, he probably hasn’t,” Annabeth said.
“Wait, really?” Will asked, straightening.
Annabeth shrugged. “Well, Nico grew up in Italy in the 1930s, right? Trick-or-treating wouldn’t have really been a thing. It started in America around that time, but then it stopped during World War II because of the sugar shortage, so he probably never went after his family moved to America either. Then he was in the Lotus, and I’m not sure he would have had the opportunity since he got out,” she said.
“Oh my gods, that is so sad,” Piper said.
“We need to fix this injustice,” Leo said, standing up. “I mean, we’ve all had messed up childhoods, but missing out on trick-or-treating?”Or, Will and The Seven realize Nico has probably never been Trick-or-Treating before, but things don't quite go as planned.

Summary
The second Will locked eyes with him, a flood of long buried emotions washed over him, and he suddenly felt nauseous in at least three different ways. Staring back at him, holding a solo cup in one hand and having just dropped what appeared to be a bottle of beer from the other, was Nico di Angelo.
Nico di freakin Angelo.
Nico di Angelo had always been cute. Charming, even. But despite the look of frozen horror on his face, sometime in the past 4 years he'd gone from cute to gorgeous, and Will was not prepared for that. Scratch that, he was not even prepared to see Nico di Angelo, much less process how much more attractive he'd gotten in the years since… well, everything.

"You're impossible," Will said as they began walking back to the Apollo table. Nico smirked and let out a small huff. Suddenly, he stopped in his tracks, a look of shock creeping across his face.
"Nico?" Will said, but his voice sounded far away. The plate and goblet fell from Nico's hands and clattered on the floor of the dining pavilion. Nico doubled over and clutched his ears, praying it would make the buzzing stop. It didn’t.

If Will thought his day couldn’t get any weirder, he was proven wrong the moment he walked through the door. A pale, thin man with unkempt grey hair in an orange prison jumpsuit was stabbing at a rotisserie chicken with a fork as the chicken skittered around the table, seeming to avoid him. Maron sighed.
"Ehem," he said, crossing his arms as he approached. The man froze, looking up at Maron, then over to Will. His expression darkened.
"Oh gods, not another one," the man groaned, rolling his eyes.
"Tantalus, this is William Solace, parentage undetermined," Maron said.In other words, Will Solace's introduction to Camp Half-Blood. Minor (backstory-related) spoilers for TSATS.

"Bye, Nico, see you tomorrow," Will said with another soft smile, then he turned and headed back to the Apollo cabin. Nico watched him go with an unfamiliar sense of longing in his chest. He turned around and closed the door, leaning against it and sliding into a sitting position. A million thoughts filled his mind, most of them involving Will Solace and his stupid sunshine smile. Gods, he wasn't sure how much longer he could keep this up. The more time he spent with Will, the more he felt like he was going to spontaneously combust every time he didn't tell Will how he really felt about him. But how could he? He didn't even know for sure if Will liked guys, much less if Will liked him. Besides, what Will had said earlier still bothered him. Truthfully, he didn't know if he was accepted at camp because no one knew who he really was. If he and Will started dating and the other campers found out, would everything change? Would he become an outcast again?
Or, Nico di Angelo is cripplingly in love with Will Solace, and finally decides to enlist the help of the dryads to come out and confess his undying love to him... but things do not exactly go as planned.

“I was wondering if you would want to hang out with us at the campfire tonight,” Will said, gesturing to Kayla and Austin. Austin gave a sort of nervous grin and Kayla waved, smiling sweetly. Nico’s eyes narrowed, his expression bouncing between confusion and suspicion. Finally he shrugged.
“I don’t know,” he said, suddenly struggling to make eye contact with Will. “Campfire’s aren’t really my thing.”
“That’s ok,” Will said quickly, “You don’t have to like, sing or anything, you can just hang out. The Apollo cabin gets to sit in the front, so prime real-estate for making s’mores.”
“S’mores?” Nico replied, his expression growing even more confused. Will’s jaw dropped.
“You’ve never had s’mores??” he asked incredulously. Nico shrugged and shook his head. “Oh come on, you have to try them, they’re amazing. Come to the bonfire tonight, and I’ll make you some, you’ll love it. I promise,” Will said, eagerly extending his hand to Nico.
Or, Will makes a promise to Nico, and then Nico makes a bigger promise to Annabeth.
Takes place in the days leading up to The Lost Hero.

Our story starts at the beginning of finals week, and the crew is excited for their group trip to upstate New York for the holidays. They call the annual trip "Saturnalia" in honor of their old camp activities director, Mr. Brunner's, obsession with Greco-Roman Mythology. Fluff ensues.
