Summary
This is a Simon/Jay love story which picks up from the end of the episode Exam Time, which was the final episode of series 2. It is AU, but I have tried to keep the characters as true to their TV characters as possible, with the obvious difference in Simon and Jay's sexual preferences. I have added some details. I had to decide what subjects the boys were studying, adding subjects to those I knew they were taking, and this has included Jay studying PE with Neil. I've also given Jay a little sister, like he has in the film. I named his mum Julie, as we never get to know her name. Rated for sex scenes and bad language

Summary
Shortly after the beginning of the new century, deep-space surveillance led to an alarming conclusion: the Earth would soon be struck by a group of small asteroids. In desperation, the Federation of Central Sina developed Stonewall, a massive anti-air ballistic weapon, in the center of the Three Sisters continent. The weapon, for the most part, worked. However, after the danger passed, Sina realized just how powerful a weapon it had. Using Stonewall, The Sina National Coalition established air superiority over the entire Three Sisters Territory. Conventional ground forces were no match for aerial barrage from the Sina air force, and Legion forces were forced to retreat to the island of Trost, beyond Stonewall's range. Weakened and fragmented, Legion learns of a final air strike to be conducted on their headquarters and scrambles what few elite pilots it has left to counter-attack. Follow the efforts of Legion, mostly through the eyes of one of its most elite pilots, as they take on a vital role in Legion’s efforts to defeat the SNC and finally end the war.

Sephiroth finally manages to kill everyone during one of his many returns from the dead. He is a badass, nearly all powerful god of destruction and completely bored out of his oh so perfect, superior mind now that he’s gotten his way. He starts missing his fights with his only rival and the entertainment they provided but cannot pull the other away from a protective lifestream for long or return him to life. So he decides with nothing better to do and ridiculous amounts of power, he’ll just return them to a point in time when they both were alive and Sephiroth had easy access to manipulate his favorite puppet.
Cloud is not happy to find himself a trainee/infantryman again and the other Firsts and upper management cannot for the life of them figure out why the “Great Sephiroth” is stalking the blond and acting like a bratty, bullying seven year old with his first crush.

He'd taken one final slug of tequila- which really, he should never drink- and just blurted it out. Chibs hadn't laughed at him, though.
