The Eastern kingdom and the barbarian tribes have been at odds for generations. Who better to advocate peace but the Crown Prince, the unfortunate heir, Todoroki Touya? Marriage across governments does tend to create bonds, after all. This one just so happens to have the added bonus of pissing off his father.

“What’s your name?” The question leaves his lips before he can process it, a jerky attempt at conversation. He is curious if this thing has a name at all.
It evaluates him, minutes ticking by as they stand motionless in the kitchen. Keigo barely breathes.
Finally, it speaks, a low, husky drawl, almost imperceivable. “Dabi.”
“I’m Keigo”
No need for last names, Keigo hasn’t gone by his in a long time.
…
“Why did you help me?”
The words send a jolt through Keigo, part of him not expecting the creature to know more than its name. He takes a steadying breath, sudden nervousness overtaking him. This thing was clearly more human than he had assumed. Keigo finds himself at a loss for words, faced with the question he had been asking himself from the start.
“I don’t know, you just… looked like you needed saving.”

Keigo hides the monster terrorizing the town, who is really just a broken man who never asked to be made, from an angry mob.
