Summary
Izaya Orihara wants to feel alive. Every time he fights Shizuo Heiwajima, his blood pumps in a way that brings meaning to his life. No matter what he did, he would never be able to stop getting close to the monster of Ikebukuro, just to feel his hands on him, to smell his skin. He hated Shizuo with every fiber of his being, but that didn't mean he didn't love messing with him any chance he could get. Something that people don't know about Izaya, is that he is lonely. Throughout the years, he had become skilled at pushing those he cared about away, leaving him to have no set of arms to fall into at the end of a long day. When he realizes this one day, he comes up with a stupid, but exhilarating plan to convince Shizuo to sleep with him as a way to calm the feud between them. It would be a win-win scenario. Izaya gets laid and an ear for his problems, while Shizuo gets to hurt him in a new way that wouldn't bring devastation to the city he lives in. Not to mention, it would be a way for Izaya to get close to the man he'd been secretly enamored by for years, and a new way to feel truly alive.

Due to an unfortunate and unforeseen fateful event, Izaya and Shizuo are bound together preventing them from hurting each other. Forced to adapt to one another, they must learn to put their differences aside and try to work around the bond neither of them wants. Before long, events come thick and fast that nobody had expected. With Izaya missing for over a year after their final fight, Shizuo struggles with the possibility that he has become a true monster. Meanwhile, Izaya reconsiders his definition of "monster". When the two finally meet again they will have to face their emotions head on if they hope to continue forward.
Probably slow burn, lots of mental illness and bad coping mechanisms. They will find happiness at some point I swear!

Shizuo's life is given a glimpse of hope when a mysterious invite to the "Bureau of Iris Ensata," throws him into the world of the supernatural and yokai. But that hope of a new, better, life is starting to look dim as he finds himself partnered with a certain sly yokai with an annoying habit of calling him, "Shizu-chan."
Or: I created a plot where Shizuo and Izaya fight against evil spirits and yokai as part of an organization so that I could imagine the two being a badass power couple.
