Alex Quackity: Look, Thomas Innit, or Tommy as he prefers to be called, killed Dream. This is not the question we are dealing with in this trial. We know where it happened, we know when it happened, we know he was the one who shot Dream point blank in the head. Those are all facts of this case. As soon as the preacher finishes his sermon, Jack presses a kiss to his mama’s hand, loads up in his piece of shit truck and heads down to the post office, slaps one of the last two nickels he’s got to rub together down on the counter and mails out a postcard that’s four years overdue.

Or Jack's daddy dies, leaving him the ranch and everything on it, giving Ennis and Jack the chance to have that sweet life together Jack's always dreamed about. Ennis is just gonna need a little bit more convincing.
