It should be fine, right? He can make it work.

Nox told Chase that he wasn’t sure what happens when you die in a book, but what if he was lying?
He plays the villainess, after all. They die all the time in books. Why would Ex Libris let him skip out on those scenes?
Maybe Nox just didn’t want to reveal what actually happens when you die in a book.OR: Ex Libris is creepy, and Nox has died in books. A lot. And now he has to face it.
There are no permanent deaths in this fic. TW tho it certainly talks about dying. And seizures.

Summary
It’s been a month since Chase last entered a book. A month since the spell page last lit up.
Nox doesn’t know what happened, only that Chase vanished without warning. When the story finally calls him again, Nox finds a very different Chase on the other side. Grief-stricken, guilt-ridden, and trying far too hard to pretend he’s okay.
There’s no magic fix for this: no story twist or clever wish to bring her back. But maybe, if they hold on to each other, they can still find a way forward.
Or: What would happen if Myra died before Chase could make his wish.

After Chase brings Nox and Violet home, it's time to figure out where they want to sleep. Violet knows exactly what she wants, obviously. She wants a throne room filled with jewels. Chase can work with that.
Nox isn't so sure. He doesn't want a cardboard house like Silver's, and he doesn't want a sleeping bag oven mitt like Bronze's. He wants... he doesn't know.

As Ex Libris closes in, the truth comes out—Buddy isn’t just a stowaway in their book-hopping adventures. He’s in hiding, and he’s running out of time.
Trapped in a form that Ex Libris can't control, Nox has spent too long locked in a box, silenced and forgotten. But Chase isn’t about to let that happen again. Not to someone who finally has a name, a voice, and people willing to fight for him.
