Summary
“I don’t like this,” Steve mutters to him, as he shifts awkwardly on his feet in the lounge of Tony Stark’s absurdly large Malibu mansion.
Bucky sighs and resists the urge to roll his eyes. This isn’t the first time (and it certainly won’t be the last) that Steve has expressed that very sentiment, and while Bucky also recognises the futility and drawbacks to this particular job, it’s a job, it’s their job and it puts money in their bank account, which is something that Bucky won’t turn his back on.
“I just don’t understand why someone like Tony Stark needs a bodyguard,” Steve complains, quietly. “Some spoilt little rich boy, so full of himself that he thinks the whole world is out to get him?”
“Shut up, or you’re going to get us fired,” Bucky hisses.
Steve shakes his head. “All I’m saying is that I don’t want to have to spend the foreseeable future looking after some dolled-up, greedy prep school reject.”
Or, alternatively, five times that Tony Stark surprised Steve and Bucky, and one time they didn’t really care.

Bucky seldom slept on the nights Steve was missing from their bed. Both he and Tony had their ways of coping. Tony, ever the mother hen, would spend every waking moment in his workshop. He either worked on gear for himself or whoever was missing from their weird haphazard family.
"I can't help it, Buck," he had said, eyeing Bucky with those ridiculous doe eyes of his when Bucky had tried to convince him to get some sleep. "Keeping them safe keeps me going."
It had taken all of Bucky's strength not to sigh and bury his face in his hands. How he of all people had ended up with not one but two reckless boyfriends was beyond him.
Or Steve goes on a solo mission and his boyfriends miss him very much.

Barnes folds his arms across his chest. “Why am I Barnes?” he demands.
“Well, to be fair, between the three of them, you look most like a Barnes.” Tony shrugs. He points to Noir!Bucky. “You’re Bucky, and you’re James.” He winks at his own Bucky, who rolls his eyes.
Bucky wrinkles his nose. “Why the hell would any version of me wanna be called James?” he asks, almost disgusted.
Tony pauses and exchanges a look with the other two. “Spoilers,” he offers, half-heartedly.
Bucky frowns. “What’s spoilers?”Thankfully, Barnes intercedes. “If we get into this now, we’re never going to stop.” He fixes Tony with a steady look. “You’re sure you’re okay with this,” he says, warily.

The team steps in to help Tony learn to cook. They share their favorite recipes, put the kitchen back together after the inevitable mess, and try hard to not let the truth of everyone’s collective crush on the genius slip.
Tony has no idea that every single member of the Avengers would be all too happy to kiss him while cooking, thrilled to hold hands during movie night, and full on ecstatic to cuddle up together in the mornings. They are ALL in love with Tony and if he ever looked up from frantically studying his recipe cards, the brilliant billionaire would probably figure it out.
The team just wants Tony happy, so they stay quiet about their feelings, Tony learns to cook, and on Saturday night Tony is out the door to see his boyfriend...
