Captain’s Log, First Officer
The USS Enterprise has arrived at Tarsus IV 48 hours and 11 minutes ahead of schedule. Its mission, to collect various fungus samples along with whatever records remain from 20 years ago, with the eventual goal to ascertain the precise timeline of the massacre. Myself along with a specialized science team will begin its search in 1 hour. The captain has temporarily relieved himself from duty, therefore I have taken command. The captain has confined himself to his quarters and will remain there until the mission is completed.

Jim had been surviving horrible things when he wasn’t even a minute old. He survived Frank with his stench and swinging limbs. He and his kids survived Tarsus and Kodos and all the nightmares and ghosts that brought. He had survived Nero and had even saved a few others too.
Jim was an expert in survival and had known from a young age that surviving meant sacrifice. It meant doing whatever it took to ensure that Jim could still stand up even if his muscles were aching and he had blood in his mouth.
Jim did what he needed to.
Because he didn’t believe in no win scenarios.

It was probably meant to look intimidating, especially when he looked way taller due to Tango sitting down. But shamefully, the sight only made Tango hold his breath so as to not let out any sounds of amazement. The light made the sight breathtaking. “Your powers are fire related.”
Only then did the other lower his wings, and Tango finally looked him in the eyes.
This man had to be an angel.

Jimmy laughs, “Bad Boys don't need sleep!” He crows, “We’re better than sleep!”
“Uh-huh.” He nods along. The picture is beginning to be pieced together, and he’s slightly less worried about Jimmy keeling over and dying, moreso just him keeling over in general. He loves Jimmy, but there is not enough love in the world that would allow him to lug Jimmy’s tall-ass and passed out body somewhere safe so he can sleep when he inevitably passes out.

“I'm a canary,” Jimmy tells Tango, blurting out the answer like it burns his tongue. “I'm cursed and I cause disasters wherever I go.”
Tango raises an eyebrow. “...Because you're a canary?”
Jimmy feels like Tango isn't taking this seriously. “Yes! Because I'm a canary! I'm an omen of death! You know, canary in a coal mine, they die and there's something dangerous! And I cause it because I'm cursed to be the canary!”
Tango snorts. “I don't think that's true.”
Jimmy stares at Tango in surprise. “It is true!”
Tango frowns slightly. “...When we're done with the game, I have someone I think you should meet.”Or: Jimmy is a canary. He has a soulmate who knows a guy that can take care of canaries quite well.

After Double Life, everything goes back to normal (or almost), but Tango is...pining, simply put. He misses Jimmy, but he doesn't want to risk the other man not feeling the same, so he doesn't contact him. But Jimmy is stubborn, and he's, apparently, big into 'go big or go home' philosophy - as he tears a hole in Hermitcraft's sky just to get to Tango. Finally, they reunite.
