Summary
Seth was not satisfied with ART's explanation that the whole incident was “voluntary security training” (correct), “a learning experience for all of us” (ugh), or “possibly a form of bonding between SecUnits” (double ugh). So now Three and I had to have a meeting with Seth, Karime, and ART, plus Iris, who was sitting in to "listen and learn." I could have asked Mensah to talk her way in as an expert mediator or something, but let’s be real, I’m not going to do that.
(No, Mensah hadn't joined ART's crew. We were on our way back to Mihira, and she and her second-eldest had come along to visit Amena, who was studying at PSUMNT. Well, that's what she'd said. Clearly, they were also visiting me.)
(This was not really a great time to get in trouble for shooting someone, is what I’m saying.)

Summary
Things have been awkward between ART and Murderbot since a new crewmember asked an uncomfortably personal question. ART has a plan, though: if it wants its SecUnit to stop running away from it, it will have to give it something to fight, instead.
I wish you could try is from Murderbot's perspective as it tries to punch ART's new drone in the face.
Show me how you want it to be is from ART's perspective, as the two of them finally try to discuss what they are to one another.

As a state-of-the-art B-class wormhole-capable deep-space research vessel, I do not consider myself to have many serious design flaws. Every piece of me has been meticulously crafted, is regularly maintained and upgraded, and there is very little I cannot do if I set my several dozen exabytes of processing power upon the task. This is why the Pansystem University of Mihira and New Tideland’s extra-curricular oversight committee deemed me more than capable of operating unmanned on the occasional intelligence-gathering reconnaissance mission. It is for the sake of both necessity and convenience that these missions are camouflaged as cargo runs.
Nonetheless, it is an unmistakable oversight that I am capable of being bored. It is also incredibly annoying that unmanned cargo runs are so dull.

With Networks VOID/Networks VITAL, NULLverse is narratively Complete. But I keep writing anyway. Cuz it's fun.
Consider this series if you like: feral shit, disaster, continuity of identity+memory, societies of people with divergent needs/wants, chaos, robot creation ethics, violence vs security, suffering, healing, bad puns.

- At the end of Exit Strategy, the Combat SecUnit succeeds at capturing Murderbot
- Murderbot is subjected to Palisade's construct research lab as they try to figure out what makes a rogue tick
- The Combat SecUnit is A (Problematic) Character
- Disaster ensuesNote installment one, Parameters NULL, is heavily horror/angst (and dark comedy). References NULL is also deeply angsty.
Series has its ups and downs regarding angst, slightly-less-dark comedy, and trauma recovery themes. Plus some whack worldbuilding speculation. We like to multi track drift here. It’s crack it’s angst it’s fluff? We have the RangeTM

ART wants to be prepared for every eventuality. Especially the eventualities that involve SecUnit willingly getting back into its MedBay. It has started simulating surgical protocols, making sure its medical programs align with SecUnit's physiology, so that when the time comes to perform certain operations, the chances of success will be at a maximum.

Summary
Perihelion has been acting strangely ever since it came back from its last uncrewed cargo run. And now it has all this information - lightweight armor specs, intel drone schematics, and incredibly sophisticated hacking abilities - that Tarik is damn near certain could only have come from contact with a SecUnit. Which means that Perihelion, and possibly the entire mission of PSUMNT, has been compromised.
No one aside from Tarik seems to be taking this seriously.
