Objectively she wasn't wrong about that. His eyes stung. It was different for him though. Four years ago he stayed in the Cloud Recesses for the guest lectures and was thrown out by Lan Qiren in the end. How would he survive living there?
Or: Wei Wuxian marries into the Lan Sect expecting to be miserable but slowly learns to make it and the people of the Lan Sect his home. And maybe he'll even get to keep it for once.

Summary
Lan Wangji doesn’t like Halloween.
He finds the whole macabre pathos of the day off-putting. He doesn’t like scary movies, he doesn’t understand the aesthetic of skulls and death, and he especially doesn’t like being scared. He’s never seen the appeal. Why would someone deliberately subject themself to such a negative emotion?
But Lan Wangji, more than he doesn’t like Halloween and being scared, loves his son. And Halloween is, undeniably, Lan Sizhui’s favorite holiday.
Which is how Lan Wangji finds himself here, at the Yiling Burial Mounds haunted experience, standing in a dark anteroom covered in fake cobwebs as Lan Sizhui and Lan Jingyi listen to a woman in a white t-shirt covered in red corn syrup explaining the rules. -

Lan Wangji, generally speaking, did not make note of people. Of course there were exceptions, once faced with special kindness or distaste, but most often others left an imprint so light that it would fade from his mind in only a few days, if not minutes.

Wei Ying would never forget the day he first met Wheatgrass Guy. He had been rotating the stock of bananas, cleaning out the over-ripe ones to move to the bargain bin, when it had happened.
“Excuse me. Where can I find the wheatgrass?”
“End cap, row four -- ” Wei Ying started to answer. And then he saw him. Standing there in his flowy white tunic and his pale blue linen pants, as if that was a thing that people did. Who did that? Was it legal to do that? Wei Ying thought not.
“Thank you,” Wheatgrass Guy had said, his startlingly light eyes boring into him.
“No problem,” Wei Ying had managed. “Let me know if you need help with bananas.”
Wei Ying should not be allowed to speak. Who had entrusted him with words?
“I will let you know if I need any help,” Wheatgrass Guy had said graciously, and Wei Ying thought that this guy was too good, too amazing, too kind, letting it slide like that -- “with bananas.”

Wei Wuxian flaps his wings and lifts off the pile of clothes he slept on. Then he flies over to where Lan Qiren is taking in the sight of the burned-out array on the floor, stroking his beard and murmuring something that suspiciously sounds like "the boy is too smart to blow himself up like this."
Once he's back to being human, Wei Wuxian will never let Lan Qiren live down this back-handed compliment. He decides then and there that he will have a plaque made, one reading "Wei Wuxian is too smart to blow himself up. - Lan Qiren," and hang it up in Lan Zhan's office, where his uncle will have to see it every single time he comes to visit his nephew to talk about sect matters.
OR: Wei Wuxian turns into a bee and his future Uncle-In-Law Lan Qiren comes to the rescue.

Both Lan Sizhui and WWX are huli jing.
WWX teaches LSZ to be a huli jing while WWX figures out how to solve LSZ's curse that was placed on him as a child.
Issue: LWJ is worried that WWX "loves" him only as part of the dragon thrall LWJ has on him, and so LWJ tries to put a distance b/w them. WWX pushes back.
Kid fic but kids are teens.

Summary
Wei Ying didn't often think about what he was doing as he was doing it—that way lay madness and a lot of self-doubt. Still, as he was half-naked in bed with Mianmian, with Lan Zhan, also stripped down to his waist, spooned up behind her, he had to pause for a moment in the middle of undressing her and wonder just how he had gotten here.
Or, Wei Wuxian, thinking he's just being a good buddy, decides to get Lan Wangji together with Mianmian. Things don't go as planned.
