Jiang Cheng entered the Sunshot Campaign with an unexpected ally, a creature in the form of a crow that could command resentment and other resentful creatures at will. The other sect leaders believed he had control over an unusually powerful yao, until it showed its true form on Qiongqi Path to whisk away the Wen remnants.
With the help of an ingenious inventor by the name of Wei Wuxian, they seal it away. But nothing is ever that simple. With many believing the creature may be linked to the mysterious demon, the Yiling Laozu, that was said to be defeated years ago, it isn’t long until the seal is broken and it’s a race to figure out where the creature is as cultivators and entire Sects begin to be attacked.
(Jiang Cheng thinks that's ridiculous. He may not know what Wei Wuxian is, but there's no way that idiot is a powerful, unknown creature comparable to a god. And Lan Zhan just wants Wei Ying to be safe.)
