Summary
When Susanna Patrya Haltmann finally gets home after being trapped in Another Dimension for the majority of her childhood, she's grief-stricken to find her father no longer remembers her. She vows to find a way to save him somehow, but that requires sacrifices. She's forced to give up a majority of her mortal flesh, well as her moral compass and sense of identity just to join the company and remain by his side... and even that doesn't guarantee his recovery.
She finds ways to cope, renaming herself Susie and embracing her role as both a cyborg and a puppet of the Haltmann Works Company. Eventually, she even becomes convinced that everything that happened to her was in fact for the best and that she's been made flawless.
Following the death of her father, however, doubts start to arise. Were the sacrifices she made as a young adult really worth it? And where is she supposed to go now without the man that acted as both her admin and her parent?
