Peter really wanted to go to another universe, let’s be clear. But he a) had homework, b) didn’t need his brain to melt out of his ears, and c) had a dinner to get to in three hours.

Standing in front of Mrs. Davis, handing over a stick of plastic and circuitry, he wondered how Tony even talked him into making the video in the first place.
“Thank you, Mr. Parker. You may return to your seat,” she said with a smile.
Peter nodded in response and turned to walk back to his desk, ignoring the feeling that he was walking to his death sentence.
He fought down wave after wave of nausea as she plugged the flash drive into her computer and scrolled through the files until she found the one that he titled ‘Hero Project.’ Neither Ned nor MJ even knew what he had done for his project. He had refused to tell them out of fear that he would lose his nerve.
Mrs. Davis casted her screen to the projector in front of the board and pressed the play button.
There was no going back.

Peter doesn’t say anything about the fact that she has a bag packed and ready to go when it’s her turn to stop at home.
In all fairness, there is a lot going on and he seems pretty wracked with guilt over the whole 'fleeing from his enemies and murder charges and making them come with him' thing.
At some point she’ll probably want to assure him that it’s fine, it’s not like she had better plans for the rest of the summer and also she’s sort of a complete sucker for Peter Parker and honestly is maybe a little too down to follow him anywhere he’s heading, but that’s another thing like the bag that might lead to a conversation and well… she’s not a fan of conversations.

"Yeah," Peter says. And then, because he's an idiot, adds, "He's cool."
Michelle shifts, kicks her feet up onto the coffee table. "Hm. I'm more into The Winter Soldier type. Dark, mysterious, dangerous. That's cool"
Peter is about to reply through a steadily deepening frown - The Winter Soldier??? Cooler than Spider-Man??? Really??? - but when Michelle had shifted on the couch, she had somehow ended up with her shoulder bumping his, their arms almost pressed together, and for some reason the warmth of her body so close is really distracting. So he doesn't say anything.
(Peter is a dumb teenage boy who just wants Michelle to think he's cool).
