    Summary

You side-eye the unconscious man on the pavement before looking back to him. “I’m not looking for any trouble. He attacked me.”

For good measure, you hold up the backpack as if this will be evidence towards your exoneration.

“I can see that.” He sounds amused, and rolls those shoulders as he continues to drape his arms over the handlebars of his bike. “You gonna give me any trouble with that backpack, sweetheart?”

“Not planning on it.” You reply back, thinking that you like the way he draws out the word ‘sweetheart’ on his tongue. “Unless you try something too.”

It comes to you belatedly that you are probably the world’s most colossal idiot to threaten the Red Hood. But it’s been an adrenaline-fueled night and perhaps you shouldn’t be judged for the first few things that fly out of your mouth post-fight. He seems unmotivated to retaliate at this, if the way that his shoulders shake—he’s laughing, you realize—at your statement of valor.

tl;dr: A chance encounter with the Red Hood starts a domino effect you are helpless to stop. Jason Todd/Reader
