Summary
Hermione pleaded with the Order to begin using dark magic as they started to lose the war. She became obsessive with it, really. She knew its the only way to make it out alive.
The final battle came and Harry died at the hand of Voldemort, being the last horcrux to go. She knew what she had to do. Killing Voldemort didn't change what happened as she looked around to see the remains of her friends and family. Their demise came and she was all that was left. After spending the better part of year practicing Black family magic thanks to Sirius, she had found something that isn't done anymore. She let herself fall into the magic and sacrifices of the Black family ruins.
Its magic like no other. She knew what she had to do. She had to set it right. A spell sent to her with the right instructions led her where she needed to go- better yet, when.
19 year old Hermione was now in 1979, settled with the knowledge of horcuxes and enough Black family magic to do what needed to be done. Sirius doesn't know what to make of it when a girl he'd never met landed within his recently deceased uncles wards-much less to do when she reeked of family magic. -

There is something both thrilling and intimate about watching someone when they think no one is around, seeing how they behave in the vacuum of other people’s perception.
Regulus momentarily sheds his poise when he wrestles with the ancient lock, tote bags precariously balanced on his shoulders and neat curls just beginning to frizz and frazzle in the humidity. He mutters something James is too far away to hear, but it is most certainly a curse.

“Constellation..” Remus interrupted and cringed as James shot him a look before continuing.
“Constellation, whatever, and now you are here? Why? Do you even know our names?” He ended, looking more manic than when he started.
Sirius looked confused for a second, as if he forgot why he was even here, but then smirked. Nudging Regulus in the arm and giggling, “They really do call us aliens,” he jeered, and Regulus just stared at him with a straight face before looking back down into his lap.

Sirius and Regulus are aliens and show up to James and Remus' flat.
