Unfortunately for him, his father didn't listen - and launched him into a restricted spring at the far end of the land of cursed springs. What would have been an impossible gift to anyone else - flight, magic, strength beyond what he had ever experienced before - only served to take away everything Ranma ever had to define his existence.
