From the moment of his birth, Izuku had been unremarkable. Sure, as a child he may have been cute, with his wide eyes, tousled locks, and freckled, soft cheeks but as a teenager, he was left with a rather plain-looking body. He was small and skinny and, most importantly, he was quirkless which gave the other kids in his grade plenty of ammunition to push him around.
His hopes were once again crushed when he finally did present. He presented as a Beta, the smallest population group. Betas were rare, true, but they were also even more looked down upon than every other secondary gender. Betas could take on the role of an Omega or an Alpha, they were versatile like that. But this versatility came with a high cost: The fertility of Betas was almost non-existent.
But what hurt the most was the comments from Kacchan.
"A useless gender for a useless Deku," he had said upon hearing the news. "It's a good fit, don't you agree, shitty nerd?"

It was almost sobering, to realize that he was really here in a way Katsuki hadn’t thought he’d ever get to be. Wishing and wanting something was so different than actually receiving it. He would’ve made the move; he would’ve put his heart on the line and eventually would’ve been honest with Izuku. But only now did he realize that a big part of him expected to get rejected. Izuku would’ve been nice about it, wouldn’t want to lose Katsuki, and that would’ve been good, but Katsuki was losing his mind at the realization that he had been preparing for heartbreak. Or just trying to prolong it.
Katsuki and Izuku are a little inappropriate with their boundaries but they like each other enough to make it okay.
