“This is Father’s friend, Mr. Jon Snow.”
“Snow? What Snow? Do you mean that boy’s tutor?” Lysa looked Jon up and down, and grimaced. She then turned the full force of her ire on Sansa, who could only wring her hands.
“And what pray tell has Father’s friend been saying to make you look like a peony?” Before Sansa could begin to think of what to say in reply, for it really wasn’t any of the old fussbudget’s business, Jon cleared his throat.

Jaehaerys does not reply to it. Not immediately.

At the beginning of the True Dawn, a time separate from the Dawn Age, two beings came into the world. The Mörgunstár, and the Mother of Forests. The Mörgunstár gave birth to humankind, as the Mother of Forests gave birth to what the First Men—who were not, in fact, the first men—would later call the Children of the Forest. Together they brought into being the Weirwood Trees, of which the Children of the Forest guarded with their lives.
It was, for many years that The Mörgunstár left humans to do as they please, not interfering in her children's affairs. But then the First Men conquered Westeros, and the bountiful land that her eldest daughters—the Vestjari, as they called themselves—had created was colonized and almost entirely destroyed by the war that followed. For the thousands of years that the War of the First Men and the Children of the Forest raged, the Vestjari people sealed themselves on Tarth. Hiding. Surviving. Outlasting.
After a time the war got so horrific that the mother of magic, of stars, of prophecy, of humankind, had to step into the chaos. She had to prevent her children from destroying themselves. And thus she birthed something that would lessen their anger. And thus soulmates were born.
