You managed not to startle at the mention of the Gojo heir and how coincidental it was that your older cousin happened to say his name just as you were thinking about him. You accepted the box with unconcealed interest.
“I’m just as curious as you are,” Suguru commented, watching you look over the impressive detailing of the box. “Satoru has no trouble receiving gifts but he’s certainly not known for giving gifts.”
You pretended not to notice the unspoken question you heard in that statement. You carefully opened the box under the heavy gaze of your cousin and couldn’t help the way your breath hitched. Blood rushed to your head and your inner baby python let out a ferocious hiss of delight.
Suguru’s hand shot forward and carefully gripped the wrist of your dominant hand to keep you from slamming the lid back on the box. “Is that …” His voice was low and controlled. “… a tongue?”

Simon Riley, that was his name, you'd learned it while the teacher took attendence. No one but you seemed to notice the way he looked too exhausted, the way he looked around like he was lost. You could see that something happened to him, and that something broke him to pieces and how he wasn't letting anyone build him back up. You were the only one to notice him.
After that day a silent bond had formed between you two. You'd nod or smile at him from time to time, and he'd nod back. But that was about it. Its not like he'd let you get close, you knew that. So you didn't force your way in.
Well, that was almost fifteen years ago.
Tldr; You kind of have a past with him but you also kind of have to work with him but he doesn't seem to remember you.
