Summary
After a months-long dry spell brought by sexual incompatibility, Mike and Jane break up, and Mike is perfectly fine with being alone. He is. It's only when he gets a new job and finds that he's deeply, unquestionably attracted to his boss, Will, that things get complicated. To put it simply, Mike has never masturbated more in his life, and to top it all off, Max won't stop sending him letters with calling cards for Oasis, a phone-sex business. It's to "broaden his horizons," she says, to "figure out what he needs".
The problem with that is that Mike doesn't have those... needs.
But the longer he spends with his boss, the harder it seems to keep himself together, and when Mike finally caves and calls the number, he finds that his world flips on its head into something laden with passion and vulnerability. During the day, Mike is consumed by the fire his boss sets in the pit of his stomach, and in the night, he's swept in crashing waves of desire at the hands—or voice, rather—of Oasis' most popular operator, Jacob.

There he sees Will again. Thriving in all senses in life, looking better than the day of his wedding. The last day he saw him. In the throes of missed phone calls, cigarettes and fire— he thinks that maybe, there is more to their story than what he led himself to believe.

(Update: Title Changed - mostly because when I first started writing this I had no idea what to call it and just named it after the song I was listening to. This title seems more fitting for how the story has unfolded)
