Summary
Midoriya Izuku would never forget the day his dreams finally died.
Katsuki never got to talk to Deku about his notebooks. About what he said about giving up. The damn nerd became an expert in avoidance, disappearing from the classroom day after day, vanishing from every break and lunch hour. He didn’t even come into class until just before the bell rang. But he was so out of it, it was almost like the nerd wasn’t there at all.
Deku was falling apart and Katsuki could only watch.
The rest of the year passed. The UA entrance exam came and went. Katsuki got in, obviously, with a first-place score. He was the best of the best and his results only proved that. The night he got his acceptance letter, he wondered what school Deku would be going to since he’d finally given up on UA. It left a bitter feeling in his chest which he pushed down and ignored.
What he didn’t know was that as he was celebrating his acceptance, Deku was opening letter after letter. All rejections. And his childhood friend finally shattered.

Summary
When the Governor attacks the prison, Carl Grimes doesn't escape with his father. He escapes all alone, with only the clothes on his back and a determination to find and reunite with his family. But as the years go on, he doesn't manage to find them. Instead, he comes across a group of people, ones who call themselves the Whisperers, and he joins them, setting off a chain of events he could have never foreseen.

A Different Road Taken: The first story in this series. Carl Grimes escapes the prison alone, and it essentially goes over his journey following his escape and how he eventually becomes a Whisperer. Is one chapter.
A Long Way Home: The second story in this series. It is darker than the first and includes things such as torture, character death, mentions of rape, and more. It will go up until season 9 and a bit after. I am planning for it to have around 26 chapters, and it will undergo some heavy editing once finished.
The third story (currently with no name) will cover all of the changed events of season 10 and a bit beyond that.
A fourth story (also with no current name) will cover all of the changes events of season 11 and the eventual epilogue. It will be the last installment.

There was an odd sensation that eclipsed the boy’s being at the closeness, like a current running through him – the way Negan was acting.. it wasn’t violent or oppressive or animalistic, like The Claimers. Instead, it was laced with appreciation. Preservation. Almost awe.
And it made him sick.
Alternatively, Negan drags Carl down to hell along with him.

Summary
“Dad,” More sure, certain in his pursuit, “Will you,” Carl breathes, suddenly uncertain once more, as if all built up confidence had been lost to that tiny breath, “Can you, can you… Kiss me?”
The words, though Rick expected them, though he yearned for them in the most painful of ways, shock him to his very core. He blinks in quick succession; this doesn't seem real. He has dreamt of this so many times, though he knows nothing his mind’s eye could conjure would ever best his son, the real thing.
“Where, sweetheart?” He asks, though he knows where he’d like to. Truthfully, he’d joyously kiss each little slip of skin which wraps itself neatly, the perfect fit, around Carl’s bones.
“Any— Anywhere,” Carl’s answer, so sincere, so pained, Rick cannot help but to indulge.

Carl loves his dad, he does. More than anything. The thing is, he’s not so sure if his dad loves him, not when he looks at him like… Like he’s demon spawn. And maybe… Maybe he is. Carl never did meet his mother, not past inhabiting her womb and, as his father tells it, resting on her chest for all of three, specific minutes, before her heart gave out. It wasn’t unusual, wasn’t exactly common in the new age, but it wasn’t unheard of. They just got unlucky. Rick got unlucky. Mom got unlucky. But especially Rick. ‘Cause he knows no rest, he doesn’t get to close his eyes indefinitely and wait for his beloved to join him. He’s gotta stay here, heartbroken, half of him irreversibly missing, to take care of Carl. And he does.

Sometimes Carl has dreams, more nightmares than anything else. At least, he thinks they’re dreams. Though sometimes they feel a little too real to be just that. He’s always astoundingly young, younger than he should ever be for what’s happening. He’s heard about blocked memories, about your mind pushing things away, in a bid to protect you. What pains most is that the person featured as the starring role is his father.

There’s this thing about losing his eye, losing a piece of himself - a part of him feels wrong. Not only to himself but for others too, he could feel it. It was the elephant in the room, catching everyone's attention but most of all limiting his view of things. He’d learned that things were different with just the one, harder to pick up on when so much of his line of view was blocked off but there were other things that he had begun to notice - due to the eye or the almost dying he wasn't sure but he didn't hate it - it was smaller, almost invisible things.

Things could have gone differently. Things could have been better. Carl watched people he loved beat to death, or so he thought, while the man running things staked his claim. On Carl’s life.
It’s been three years of being a bitch for Joe. Barking when told to speak and being a good house wife wherever they landed. Survival is what it is. But even starting his young adulthood, the boy has no way to run; not with the severe limp long ago imposed.
Things could have gone differently. In Virginia, the claimers pick a fight with the wrong people. However, when the day of reckoning comes? Carl is the one lifted from the bottom. Because those eyes are far too familiar. And the leader of the Saviors thinks, just maybe, having such a little thing at his side might solve the warring that’s threatening his peace.
