Meanwhile, Tony convinces Bucky to get an emotional support dog in order to help him adjust to his newfound Regular Citizen Life. As the weeks go by, both Steve and Bucky struggle to deal with their own problems while trying to piece their glass relationship back together without stepping on the shards.

Bucky is away on a mission and Steve is trying not to smash things after stumbling across yet another piece of homophobic bullshit using Cap's name to try and persecute LGBTQ kids. The worst part is that he'd stupidly thought he could crush this sort of nonsense simply through loud and vocal support of the community, without resorting to sharing what little was left of his private life with the general public.
Evidently he's failed in that aim, however, and enough is enough. Clearly the only way to stop this crap once and for all is for Captain America to officially come out as bisexual and the best way for him to do that is obviously on... Twitter?
Thankfully he has a wonderfully supportive boyfriend, not to mention friends that he knows will stand by him every step of the way... Even if the whole damn lot of them, Bucky especially, are a little too fond of oversharing and online trolling. Still, at least he can trust them to make sure he gets his message across; loud and proud and maybe just a little bit filthier than originally intended.

Steve blinked, his lips twisting, and Bucky was sure he understood all too well, could see everything that was going on in his head with more clarity than Bucky really wanted to. Yet, the question Steve asked still felt like being punched.
“Am I really?”
When Bucky realized he’d need help after escaping from Hydra after the helicarriers fell, he returned to New York. The Avengers helped him get better, and he was doing well enough, but there were still things that were difficult, among them his relationship with Steve.
There were things he felt he had to hide, and he tried to keep them from interfering, but they only ended up driving a wedge into their relationship, and what was worse, he didn’t realize how bad it was until Steve was already leaving, getting on his bike and heading out to find his own peace.

Steve struggles to adjust, living an isolated life to protect what little reason he has to live. Everyone seems to forget that this change, this new body, the fresh horrors he sees at night, aren't seventy years old for him.
For Steve, just last year he was a scrawny little Beta with only one friend in the world. For Steve, last week he stormed a concentration camp and saw horrors beyond compare. For Steve, yesterday he had an Alpha and a pack forged in blood and battle.
Now he's got a shield and a new form and secret heats. Now he's got fear and isolation and PTSD, now he's got a body he doesn't know what to do with and a mind he can't control.
It should come as a surprise to no one that the moment Bucky is revealed to him, he's ready to follow him till the ends of the earth. Where Bucky goes, Steve will always follow, and in return, Bucky will always piece him back together.
And, God, Steve has just been living his life in pieces, scraps of humanity and normality just barely masking his never ending fear and loneliness.Series

Peter gets underestimated. Everyone calls him “kid,” as if he’s not part of the Avengers. Well anyway, contrary to what the others may think, he does notice things. Being in high school is good for something. Noticing when people have crushes, for one.
Nobody else seems to notice the way Captain America looks at the Winter Soldier. Peter is still not sure how to act around Cap. He’s a little intimidating, not a very approachable guy. He always looks very severe and serious and to be honest, Peter’s arms still hurt when he thinks about the fight at the airport. But when Steve’s looking at the Winter Soldier, he looks a lot more approachable. Softer, somehow. Peter likes him better that way. Not that he’d ever dare say that to Captain America’s face. He’s not in any hurry to die again. Anyway, the point is, Cap clearly has it bad for his best friend.
