Summary
They’re deep in the ever night beyond Okhema when Mydei notices the subtle change in Phainon’s scent. Phainon has always smelled pleasant enough, aside from the disgusting musk that comes with him being another alpha, but now that musk is more pungent and the other notes more subdued.
“Deliverer,” Mydei says. Growls, really. He’s already annoyed. Phainon should’ve done this math before they left, and now they’re both about to be horribly inconvenienced. “Why are you going into rut?”
When Phainon's ruined suppressants cause him to go into rut unexpectedly, Mydei helps him through it.

Angels are a secret division of Public Safety employed to keep specific hunters safe in order for the future to proceed as planned. They are not to be seen, heard, or felt by their wards. When Hayakawa Aki's first angel is killed under mysterious circumstances, another is called down from Heaven and assigned to him.
Constantly watching over someone makes it very hard not to fall for them, though.
[OR Chainsaw Man happens but Angel is an actual archangel sent to protect Aki and is given direct orders by Makima to not gay kiss him.]

They could fly - in fact, Kevin had suggested they fly, when Coach first called. “You want me to come with you?” Neil had asked, slightly surprised. “Obviously,” Kevin had said, like it was a stupid question.
Which didn’t really mean what Neil wanted it to mean, but it’s fine. Neil knows, has known since the day they walked out of the Nest with their lives and their freedom, that everything else they get in life is cake.
