In his ear, Oracle shouted at him about healing. An eye for an eye, Skadi used Deadly Fury. Ren’s feet, clumsy with exhaustion and pain, struggled as he tried to trip back, tried to duck away, but in almost slow-motion a sharp force cleaved down towards him and he felt frozen.
And then, from his left, a bellow of “Joker!” and steel-toed boots kicking him aside with a leap, sending him sprawling on the casino floor.
He heard Panther scream and Ryuji make a pained noise that cut off in a breathy choke, but he didn’t see it actually happen. All he knew was that when he turned back to look, Ryuji was on the floor, motionless.

Around Ryuji's wrist is a silver bangle. Engraved on the inside, a name wrapping around to kiss the soft face of his skin.

The pace was slower than the actual song had gone, but she was pretty sure she was getting the words mostly right. She opened her eyes, preparing to sing the next set of lines when she froze. Zoey was seated on the edge of the couch like she had been before, arms limp by her side, shoulders relaxed. Her pupils were pinpricked as she just stared at Rumi.
Rumi's heart dropped into her stomach. "Zoey..?" She asked carefully, stepping towards the maknae, before hesitating. Memories of fans staring off in the same way at the concert flashing through her mind faster than thoughts. "Zoey? Are you okay?" She asked again, louder, reaching out for the girl. She stopped before she touched her shoulder.
What if she wasn't supposed to touch her? What if that made it worse?
She had done this. She was right to fear, she was right to be worried. She was a monster, she had hurt Zoey
