Summary
“M-a-a-xwell.” Torse, kneeling behind him, is pretty shaky too by now. They figured out a couple weeks ago that if they clip a self-perpetuating vibroscope to just the right place on his spine, he’ll enter this new sensory state where everything he feels is tripled. The first time they tried it, Max had fondled his waist joint without thinking and Torse’s eyeslit had turned an entirely new color and he’d vented steam for about a minute and a half and curled around Max, trembling, for another five afterwards, and if that wasn’t a robot orgasm, what was? “M-m. Maaax.”
Max wrenches a singular shred of his sanity back from the spiritual plane. “Yeah?”
“I would- I would like-“ Oh, what those words do to him. Torse is so shy about his own wants, still.
“Anything,” Max breathes. “Tell me.”
Torse nuzzles down to the side of his neck, beautiful warm glowing iron, and says, “I would like to put my fist inside you.”

Summary
“I don’t know any more than you do,” Riz protests. “What… what were the exact words the witch used? When she cursed Adaine?”
Fabian clears his throat. “‘May your blood run as cold as your heart.’ And then she screamed really loud as she died but I don’t think that was part of the curse.”
“Well, apparently I’ve got a cold fucking heart,” Adaine says, shivering, as ice crystals begin to flutter from her skin and collect on the shiny stone ground beneath her feet. “I didn’t think it was this cold, though.” She frowns and Riz can see that she really is upset, despite her flippant tone. He supposes he would be, too, if he learned, against his will, that he was so cold-hearted.

Summary
He hovers his hand over the black button, frozen only by the thought of his mother. How will she feel when she gets the news that her son died, killed by an egomaniac villain who decided to play with the Bad Kids like pieces on a game board? Freshman year ended just two weeks ago. This was supposed to be a relaxing summer, one that Riz could spend with his mom without the stressors of classes and homework on his plate. He should’ve cooked her dinner after long days at work and made her coffee in the mornings.
But he knows he has to make this sacrifice. He knows it because it just makes sense. One life for five. A trolley problem and a prisoner’s dilemma, wrapped up with a bow and dropped at his feet like an unwanted Moonar Yulenear present. He’s a logical person and this is the logical choice.
Riz presses the black button.

Summary
She presses closer, pinning Fig against the wall. “Any last words?” Adaine asks. “I’ll make sure to deliver them to your loved ones.”
“You were my loved one once,” Fig declares, narrowing her eyes and tilting her head in a challenge.
“Once,” Adaine agrees. “But I’m not sorry about this.” She tenses her muscles and prepares to strike, to slice open Fig’s throat and watch her blood spill.

deeply appreciate the "gorgug and kristen are literally the only bad kids who don't thirst for blood and/or have violence in their hearts" rep that's such an extremely correct take

Summary
“We'll be casting Contagion today,” the nurse explains. “There are six possible effects that may be cast on you.” She reads them from her clipboard with a detached voice. “Blinding Sickness, Flesh Rot, Filth Fever, Slimy Doom, Mindfire, and Seizure.”
“Just… just a seizure? You’ll cast Seizure on me?”
“There’s a one-in-six chance of that, yes.”
“Good gods,” Riz mutters. “This fucking school.”
-
or: In Aguefort's Exposure and Acclimation unit, the students are asked to tolerate combat spells being cast on them. Contagion is the spell of the day, infecting each Bad Kid with a different type of illness. Only by coming together can they survive the nasty spellwork.
