Is mommy ever—? That got Fez to pay attention. Charlotte was playing with a rubber duck, dragging it along the side of the tub.
“‘Course she is.” Fez raised an eyebrow. “Why d’you ask?”
“Just ‘cause,” Charlotte said, shrugging a tiny shoulder. “She’s been gone forever now.”

"Oh, this? I brought kale from home. It goes really good with eggs," she said, adding some salt and pepper like that'll make it better. At his skeptical look, Lexi added, "What, don't you trust me?"

”Nah,” Fez shook his head but let himself be dragged. His hand was rough to the touch, so different from her soft palm. “It’s just…I thought you’d wanna go someplace nice. Get dinner, y’know.”

Finally, she stood her ground. “Look, I know Nate’s an asshole. He probably deserved it. But there’s some people who disagree,” Lexi said, before sighing. “Like Cal Jacobs.”
